 more details on the Toshiba MSX page... Select from the top menu or click on the picture above.  The recent acquisition of the DSO meant that the power supply on the right (which used to run right across the back had to be remodelled into more of a cube, thank goodness for Lego :)  In all it's glory, it may look a mess but I know where everything is. Yes, that is a wall mounted 'open air' PC. Again, you will see a lot of Lego used here.
Details of some of the tools used are shown here...  The board was pretty grimey and as expected did not work when powered up. For more details click on the image! --> Welcome, a description to the right explains the 'why' and 'how' so I guess I need to go into a bit more detail as to 'what' you can expect from this site.
The main subjects will be Vintage Computer Restoration, Vintage Camera Restoration and a link to a separate site for our Lego addiction. I have been restoring old cameras and old computers for some time now, mainly during my 'employed' years, now in retirement I can dedicate much more time to this and also have the time to document the process for each restoration. The first one will be an old HEKTOR computer produced in the 80's for the Open University, a very basic board and just over 40 years old so I don't know what to expect. My intention is to restore the items to as near factory release as possible, however there may be elements of modernisation in some cases, for example a lot of old computers output UHF TV signals, the old modulators are problematic and many TV's today do not handle these UHF signals very well. We will see. |
